The world has shifted from sudden inflation to sudden deflation.
The prices of oil and other commodities have started to plunge creating a deflationary spiral when until just recently hyper-inflation was the big worry. The wild fluctuations in prices are just a sign of a still broken financial system. The numbers are just not properly tracking reality any more. We will continue to see a falling apart of the world financial system until negotiations for a new system conclude. The negotiations are currently stalled by year-end holidays. Once the new system is set up, stability and recovery will be very fast indeed.
